2013 Fall - RV Trip West Texas and New Mexico

Here are some pics that we took on our trip in the Fall of 2013.  We travelled in our RV from Indiana to Big Bend National Park (SW Texas), to Guadalupe Mountains National Park (West Texas), onto Albuquerque and Santa Fe in New Mexico.  The big thing for us was the clear skies (no Midwest humidity to get in the way), which made the skies so blue and the clouds stand out.  That kind of shows in the favorite pics below.  In Big Bend National Park, which is far from any city, the night time skies were so full of stars it was amazing.  I never seen the Milky Way stand out as much.

Big Bend - Lost Mine Trail - This was probably my all-time favorite

Very difficult trail, with lots of ups, but views were great

Great bike riding in that area with bike trails everywhere.
Did wind up with 4 flat tires due to Goatheads (plant seed with
barbs to flatten bike tires).

  1. Looks like beautiful country...we may have to make an RV trip out there ourselves.
We’ve been to Texas (Austin area and San Antonio) but it’s a BIG state.

    1. Fall is the best time to do that trip. Cooler weather.
